The childhood obesity clinical initiative to the Department of Pediatrics at Strong Memorial Hospital has implemented a clinical quality improvement program. The goal is to change the culture of how care is delivered regarding childhood obesity in the Greater Rochester area. Participating practices track baseline BMI, develop patient education materials, and document nutrition and physical activity counseling to parents. They also track follow up counseling with parents whose children are at an unhealthy weight.
Greater Rochester Obesity Collaborative (GROC) was launched across 9 community-based pediatric offices to implement best practice guidelines for pediatric obesity. Below is a list of practices that have participated in the Greater Rochester Obesity Collaborative to-date.
